over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 13, 2023 at 06:24:10 AM

Good News! I received the production ready proof of the Adjustable Mortise Jig™

Next step is manufacturing and powder coating. This will take about 2-3 weeks.

I am working on getting the Tenon Fasteners manufactured. Manufacturing of the tenons should start in the next week or two. Right now everything is on schedule for delivery in late December.

Here is what you need to be ready for.

  • Reward survey will be sent out in October. This ensures we have the right address for collecting your shipping information and payment. You will receive an email from Backerkit as well as the opportunity to add any additional add-ons at the Kickstarter price.
  • If you have friends and other woodworkers who are interested in purchasing the Adjustable Mortise Jig and Tenon Fastener System™ they can place a pre-order on www.philipmillerfurniture.com
  • Would anyone ever be interested in the option to purchase Cerakoted version of the Adjustable Jig or Tenons? This is something that I might consider as a limited or optional option? If so please send me a message/email at [email protected] as I am trying to determin the intrest.

Thanks again for your amazing support,

Philip

100% Funded
over 1 year ago – Mon, Jul 17, 2023 at 01:27:20 PM

Hello everyone!

First off, thank you all for backing, you have all made this last week a real whirlwind of excitement and your positive feedback and support continues to blow me away. We are 100% funded!

If you are new to PhilipMillerFurniture or HowYouCanMakeIt, I am super happy to have you on board! I am going to do things a bit differently here and I will be putting out updates until the camping ends with useful info and just interesting things and stuff that I couldn’t fit into the campaign page (its long I know!). After the campaign ends we just do one update a month or more frequently if something major happens in-between.

So without further adieu, lets dive into this update!

To address a couple of questions I've had about the jig and tenon fastener.

What type of screws do you need?

The screw sizes depend on the tenon fastener size. #10 screw will work with the 4x4 and 5x5 tenon fastener. #12 can be used for the 6x6 tenon fastener.

Will you always provide tenon fasteners after the Kickstarter campaign?

Yes, we are committed to this method of joinery.

Do you provide wholesale prices for the adjustable router jig and tenon fastener?

Yes, we do provide wholesale pricing. Please contact me for details at [email protected]

The Prototype

Since this can be a really interesting process to see each part machined and created I am happy to show you the behind the scenes details of 'The Adjustable Mortise Jig & Tenon Fastener System™' I will working on creating a short video talking about the process and steps it took to create this tool and system.

If you want to check out a few build videos with the jig check out this playlist on YouTube.

As always, if you have any questions on anything we've covered do let me know in the comments and I am always happy to get back to you :)

That’s all for now,

Thanks!

Philip
